About Us
Democracy and Law Youth Association was founded in 2019 with seventeen founding members. Our main goal as an association is to promote the values of democracy and raise awareness about the responsibilities of law and young people.
In light of our slogan "Awake the youth, awaken the society", we plan to raise awareness in the minds of young people and shape a sustainable future.
Democracy and Law Youth Association aims to encourage the participation of young people, especially those who have fewer opportunities to take an active role in society, communities and organizations, to develop their skills, improve their performance and meet the needs of society, thus contributing effectively to social problems.
As the Democracy and Law Youth Association, our mission is to create a common ground for Turkish and European youth, to inform and support youth with projects on issues such as democracy, active citizenship, gender equality, culture, sports, arts, entrepreneurship, and media literacy.
The Democracy and Law Youth Association, also encourages youth workers to take an active role in non-formal learning. Democracy and Law Youth Association team continues to grow every day with new volunteers joining the team.
In addition to being active in transnational projects, our team is on the Ankara Capital Youth Assembly Advisory Board and continues its activities locally.
Our Team:
Şamil Şahin: Şamil is the founder and president of the Democracy and Law Youth Association. He has been involved in international and local Erasmus+ projects as a participant, leader and coordinator since 2018.
Mina Betül Mert: Mina is the Vice President and direct contact person of the Democracy and Law Youth Association. She is also the Local Activities Director of the association.
Ahmet Berat Korkut: Berat is the Treasurer of the Democracy and Law Youth Association. He is responsible for the accounting department of the association.
Tuğrul Topal: Tuğrul is the President of the Project Writing Committee of the association. He has been active in the Erasmus+ field since 2019; he takes part in the roles of leader, facilitator and coordinator in his projects.
Şevval Betül Adlığ: Şevval is responsible for the corporate communications of the Democracy and Law Youth Association. She has been working as a leader and facilitator in various Erasmus+ and volunteering projects since 2021.
